Recent years have seen a rapid change in the insurance sector. A wave of startups has started to challenge incumbent insurers and brokers, who need to adapt their ways of working to compete and keep their dominant positions.

Agile is a methodology that has shown great results in the insurance sector, with lean "Instech" startups, in particular, embracing cutting-edge processes to deliver disruptive products.

Should incumbent insurers be doing the same? And if so, how?

We invite you to join us for an exclusive evening where we will introduce you to the concept of ‘Agile Insurance.' You'll hear from senior practitioners with real-life experience implementing or starting to implement, Agile at major insurers. They'll share the challenges faced, as well as the lessons learned.

Craig Lace - Consultant Business Analyst, Lloyd's

Throughout his 15 year career as an IT professional Craig has worked in the personal and commercial lines product delivery space for Zurich Insurance Ltd, Arch Europe Ltd and Lloyd’s of London. Craig has been an ambassador for the agile delivery methods and is an expert in SCRUM delivery.

His key strength is the ability to break down the most complex problems into smaller deliverable parts and work with any organisation to educate and deliver based on business value. 


Paul Fitzpatrick - ‎Head of Digital Performance, Protect Your Bubble by Assurant

Paul Fitzpatrick is Head of Digital Sales Performance at Protect Your Bubble (part of Assurant). Having progressed from personalised advertising banners and other digital innovations for a car company 15 years ago, earning the now long lost Revolution Magazine Digital Marketer of the Year title in 2007, Paul has worked his way through travel and hotels at, mobile phones at Sony Ericsson and even the ‘interesting’ world of Online Dating subscriptions.

Paul joined Protect Your Bubble, the UK’s best known Gadget Insurance brand in 2015, to work on improving digital knowledge and understanding of the sales process and to improve customer conversion, a role that now extends to working with Assurant Europe’s B2B partnerships across Banking and MNOs.


Livia Thimotheo - UX Designer, Dock9

Livia is a UX Designer at Dock9 with 5 years experience working within Agile projects. She’s worked of digital products in the insurance sector including self-service applications, websites and chatbots for global insurers.

The Design of Everyday Things was her first design book and it completely changed the way she sees the world.

Mark founded Dock9 in 2008. His mission is to help financial service companies create digital products and services that give them a competitive advantage in an increasingly crowded market.

He shapes Dock9's strategic approach to clients, and is actively involved with senior client stakeholders in project planning and strategy phases. He is also focused on understanding the emerging and future technology developments that offer competitive threats and opportunities for incumbent financial services clients.

Having previously been included in the BIMA list of the top 100 most influential people in UK digital (the BIMA Hot 100) he is also a regular speaker at Fintech events on the subjects of financial technology, user experience (UX) and emerging technology trends.
