The existing NVG branding is made up of the bold typeface, Circular and the blue dot, symbolising the North Star. According to science and history the North Star is a well known constellation that is used for navigation. An abstract way of representing NVG as leading the way in the mortgage world. Along with this motif, it was apparent to us that North View Group are very proud of their bespoke analytics tool, that has proven highly effective in improving their mortgage offering. Data and science are at the core of what they do, giving our creative team here at Dock9 a seed of inspiration for the new NVG website.
Data and information can be presented beautifully, so taking this idea, we decided to create a visual concept that would combine data and the north star (dot) for the home page. We came up with the tagline ‘Data is in our DNA’ and drew up a homepage prototype using the dots, and abstract linking strands that resemble constellations. The idea proved popular with the client, as it linked back to the core of what NVG are about - data and their ability to guide their clients and inform their mortgage decisions.
From here, it all started to get rather exciting when animation came into the picture!
