User Experience Design

Crafting exceptional user experiences

We create carefully researched user experiences across desktop, tablet and mobile, designed to deliver measurable business benefits. Our process ensures we understand user types, behaviours and the business case for the project to ensure our solution will work for your users and your business.

Research & Planning

We use a range of techniques during our user experience discovery phase to make sure we have a firm understanding of your users and your business. This includes.

  • Stakeholder interviews
  • Competitor analysis
  • User personas
  • Information architecture
  • Usability testing and focus groups
  • "Design-thinking"

If the project is a revamp of an existing website we will start the project with current site user testing.

Rapid Prototyping

Our process is based around rapid-prototyping, which is much more effective than simple wireframing, which are then usability tested.

By rapidly building interactive prototypes we can bring ideas to life early in the project which helps narrow and validate requirements. It also avoids the classic pitfalls of classic IT projects, the biggest being that it isn't until the site is actually built that users can fully test the experience (at which point it is costly to change).

Initial prototypes are typically built, tested and delivered in the first few weeks of the project and validated with the client and it's users through an iterative process.

User Testing

Usability testing is simply taking a target audience to evaluate a product whilst performing specific tasks, this can be then used to identify opportunities for improvement.

The process of watching and listening to real people carry out these tasks provides a great insight into what works and what don’t.

We can use different methods to understand how users behave, but not why; usability testing can start to help understand the whys.
