The newly popular term of ‘positive friction’ indicates that not all frictions are bad and not all are avoidable. Considering that the aim is to successfully complete a task in a flawless manner while creating a positive experience, a straight, frictionless way may not always be the best solution.

The Carousel Is Dead, So Now What?

So why have carousels even been used before, what is the idea behind them and can they be improved? Their best feature is that they create space where there isn’t any. Using carousels makes it easy to highlight more than one offer and it can potentially be a good way to make the user engage. It is just not doing it in the most efficient way.

UX design has always seemed interesting but never approachable. In my mind it was the bridge between people and technology. I was really excited when a junior UX position came up at Dock9 because I have known the company and followed its growth for 4 years.
